Year 3 Debate

After Christmas it was Year 3's turn to go and visit the Civic Centre for a debate about Climate Change. The mayor was very impressed with our debating skills. We are all now going to try and make small changes in our own lives to reduce our carbon footprint.

Autumn Book Fair

Lots of children and adults came to purchase some new books from the book fair, we earned lots of commission for school so we can purchase some new books too!

Lunchtime Reading Club

The Lunchtime Reading Club began at the end of November. The children have enjoyed having a quiet, cosy space to read during lunchtime. They have enjoyed a selection of books, newspapers and comics. These will continue during Tuesday lunchtime, on a timetable basis, for the remainder of the year.

Year 3 - Instruction writing

Year 3 have been reading 'The Hodgeheg' by Dick King-Smith. They have had a visit from some real life hedgehogs and have also learnt how to cross the road safely. Hopefully these instructions will help Max and his family!

Year 5 Poetry

The Year 5 children have been writing some remembrance poetry for Remembrance Day.

Year 6 Debate

Year 6 debated in front of the Mayor of Gedling. In the Mayors Chambers within the Civic Centre, they discussed whether villages being flooded to create reservoirs was necessary. Well done for your great debating skills.
